Barbur Storage continuously strives to minimize its impact on the environment through sustainable practices and energy efficiency. We will implement programs to provide our customer with opportunities to participate in recycling and energy savings. We are always willing to learn new ideas and improve our practices. As resources and technology improve, we will always strive to lessen our carbon footprint and be socially responsible. - Reduce waste through customer box exchange, switching from paper to electronic communication, and internal “dumpster diving” to prevent reusable and recyclable items from going to the landfill
- Purchase 30% recycled content, locally made, and used items such as boxes, office supplies and carpeting
- Educates and encourages 400+ tenants to recycle, reuse, and donate unwanted goods
- Reduced energy use in 53,000 sq. ft. building through indoor and outdoor light timers, CFL lighting, weatherization, and solar panels and venting for summer cooling
- Water reduction through bio-swale, watering timers and drought tolerant plants, in addition to low-flush toilet
