Founded 44 years ago, PAE Consulting Engineers is a 70-person firm providing an array of services in mechanical and electrical engineering and technology system design. Sustainable design is a long-standing PAE focus. Since the launch of LEED, PAE has provided design or commissioning expertise for more than 75 LEED rated or registered projects. Moving beyond LEED, dozens of PAE projects have either achieved or are pursuing Living Building, Architecture 2030, Carbon Neutral, and Net Zero Energy/Net Zero Water status.
PAE’s significant achievements include: attaining a carbon and water neutral office and the aggressive pursuit of a “zero waste” environment through a comprehensive composting and recycling program. PAE actively seeks new ways of approaching sustainability, from the design of energy efficient and renewable building systems, to in-house energy reduction through a pioneering server and desktop virtualization program. PAE frequently provides in-house staff training, performs waste audits to measure results of their actions, and purchases locally when possible.
